PRESS RELEASES - December 2007
HOT FUZZ
On Saturday December 1st Movies in
Grayshott will be showing the hit comedy “Hot Fuzz” at Grayshott
Village Hall. As usual, the doors open at 7.30pm
“Hot Fuzz” is a wry sideswipe at American cop-buddy and action
movies such as “Lethal Weapon” and “Die Hard”, but with a
decidedly English twist to it.
Tough cop, Police Constable Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg), finds
himself posted from London’s Met to the sleepy West Country
village of Sandford. With garden fetes and neighbourhood watch
meetings replacing the action of the city, Angel struggles to
adapt to his situation. Worse still, he finds himself partnered
with Danny Butterman (Nick Frost), an oafish but well meaning
young Constable with a penchant for Hollywood action
blockbusters. Just as all seems lost, a series of grisly
accidents motivates Angel into action. Convinced of foul play,
Angel realises that Sandford may not be as idyllic as it seems.
“Hot Fuzz”, written by Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg, the creative
force behind the successful comedy “Shaun of the Dead”, features
a stellar cast which includes Jim Broadbent and Timothy Dalton.
